The Time-Traveling Fashionista - Bianca Turetsky in a sentence or so: Louise's interest in vintage fashion takes an incredible twist when she's magically transported to the Titanic, thanks to a particularly spectacular gown.Louise isn't your average middle school girl. for one, she's very into fashion. she can name more designers than most adults, she has a particular interest in vintage clothing (and knows the definition of vintage, thank you very much), and spends her free time designing dresses.if you think she's quirky for our time, imagine how her peers react to her 21st century lingo when she's transported aboard the Titanic while dress shopping for the upcoming school dance! she wakes up in another body on the most famous shipwreck in history. can she figure out what in the blazes is going on and make it back to her own time? will she be able to rewrite history and warn the passengers and captain about the inevitable tragedy?Louise is an adorable little fashionista with big dreams and a sweet heart. she's freaked out to be on the Titanic (obviously), but takes most of the twists and turns with a grain of salt. she even manages to learn some life lessons and put some of her relationships back home into perspective.if you're looking for a middle-grade, light hearted, quasi-historical fiction with a twist, i'd give this one a try. it's sweet, basic, and has quite a few laughs!fave quote: "Louise thought she might be the luckiest girl in the world at this moment. She just wished she had someone to share it with." (pg 143)fix er up: i was hoping for a little more depth.
